Today, in your own space, talk about where you go to talk about games: your favorite communities! They can be here on Dreamwidth or off on other sites - which you can link to, if you want - or they can be offline. Wherever they are, they are your communities and today you can tell us why you like them and why they’re the place for you. Maybe even share with us something cool/interesting that’s happened in one of your favorite communities, as a bonus challenge.

To be honest I don't really have any place where I go to squee about games or just discuss them. Offline I'll talk to like three or four people I'm close to about games because they are also gamers. However, online I don't really have any place.

I might have a conversation on tumblr once in awhile but this is rare. I'm a shy person anyways so I tend to lurk on communities for awhile before I say anything.

"As much as we like to say we've been playing video games all our lives, each of us had to start somewhere and go from there. Today, in your own space, talk about your history as a gamer. Where did it all begin? When did it all begin? Which games had the biggest impact on you? And so on."

I remember being a kid and watching my dad play Lara Croft on the playstation. When I started playing the games I drifted towards were mostly Mario games. My brother and I could play Mario Cart and Mario party for hours. Another game that had a bigger impact on me was Pokemon. Even to this day I still play the Pokemon video games.

Up until my twenties my game play could be described as casual. It was a few years ago when I started playing more and more games, branching out into different series and genres. The game that started this was Mass Effect. IDK why. Just kinda happened. :P

That game also had a pretty big effect on me.
